Expobar in need of help

Hello folks,

Looking for advice on troubleshooting Brewtus III-R.
it started when i noticed water on the counter, then the steam pressure gauge over range... After looking under the hood I found the water coming from the PRV.
I shut down the machine and it was still leaking... so off to close the water supply. then checked the Regulator Valve and found it to be high. Left machine off and turned water back on and leak continued. have since disconnected from supply and drawing from reservoir. machine started ok, turned on pump and ok at first then started leaking again through relief valve. and pressure in steam boiler spiked.

doing some reading starting to think the supply pressure regulator failure has caused a problem, either filled the steam boiler or the boiler fill valve is not shutting off...

Any suggestions?

not easy to think as I'm down on caffeine...

Thanks for the help

If WATER (and not steam) is coming from the safety valve on top of the boiler then the boiler is overfilled. If it happens on reservoir then it is a fault in the auto-fill function. First thing to ask is if you have pulled the water level sensing rod out of the boiler to check it for scale. If you can, unscrew the fixing nut and remove the whole thing as an assembly. If it is badly scaled and you pull just the rod out it will damage the teflon seal.

Thanks Randy,

I think I have the problem fixed for now. was a stuck boiler fill valve.
The leak was still going with power off.
I do have a scale problem, now I have to learn what is best way to descale.

love this forum. great answers learned allot.

thanks again,

merry christmas.
