my elektra has been spitting water 6 inches to the left during the cooling flush. Most of the cooling flush goes in the cooling vessel but more and more is not ending up spraying.

Anyone else have any experience like this?

I don't know what you mean by cooling vessel. Do you mean with the portafilter removed, the water coming out of the shower screen has parts of it that are spritzing to the left versus dropping straight down into the drip tray? If so, I'd say it's time to drop your shower screen for a good soaking in the coffee detergent of your choice - Cafiza, etc. Pretty sure you have a diffuser/distribution block(s) as well, which will also need cleaning.

Hope this helps.

I think Merle's diagnosis is correct. The Semiautomatica has a dispersion block with teenie-tiny holes that clog easily. The dispersion block and diffusion screen must be removed/soaked regularly. You even may need a very fine needle or wire to unclog the holes.
