Thanks for the pics and explanations above. I had a problem with the boiler level on my Semiautomatica increasing spontaneously at random times. I disassembled the valve per instructions above and found a big glob of mineral deposits on the valve seat. Scraped it off, reassembled, and the problem was fixed. This forum has saved me and my machine many times!

Chances are, if you have a big glob of scale in the solenoid, the boiler/heat exchanger is much worse. You may want to run a descale on the machine.
