Hi everyone, I just signed up to this excellent site.
I have had my Elektra since 2006 and until recently it always performed brilliantly. I have fairly regularly backflushed, cleaned and descaled it. it is plumbed in via a water filter and filter softener. A couple of months ago the brew pressure dropped and after a while the rotary pumped seized and I replaced it. Since then the brew pressure indicated by the gauge seems erratic. When the shot is delivered the gauge either falls slightly below the 4bar steady position or rises very very slowly. If I leave the shot running or use the blank filter for backflush the pressure gauge very slowly rises but keeps going up to maybe 12 bar. I noticed also so the used pucks are quite wet and some water is coming through the overflow pipe into the drain off under the drip tray when pulling a shot. This seems to me to indicate that the OPV is stuck or operating at a too low pressure or there is a problem with the 3 way solenoid valve. Any ideas please?
