I believe that "he" (Cheri) is a "she" . . .

Talk about spousal murder: my hubby will probably have a low down heart attack because he really doesn't have a clue (size-wise) as to what I've gotten into. Hell, he may even split after this purchase. (Any takers? I have a Belle Epoque). I am JOKING!

He would be a she as in Mon Cherie (yep, I'm a transplanted Canuck... but hold it against me). And yes I may well be single after this purchase... and he doesn't even know that I still have to get a better grinder. It's opposite in my house from most of you boys in the forum, I have go for all the good equipment meanwhile he easily drinks the drip poison at his job. It's wrong, it's just wrong!

My wife would probably object to the relationship. You should have seen her when I brought the newly rebuilt two group Faema into the kitchen. 'Your putting that where?'. But hay, I have a couple conical grinders, an Elektra A3 to match the Belle and a dedicated espresso bar with a half inch water line and a spare 30 amp 220. If that doesn't say made for each other, I don't know what does.

FYI, you wont need a heater in the winter, just leave the machine on 24/7 and it will keep the house toasty warm. They throw a lot of heat.

Long distance relationships never work out, I am going to Philly, you are in California, cant get much further apart than that.

Gosh...

In all seriousness, you will love that machine. Something about the grouphead design on the Elektra machines, they produce a wonderful shot. A word of caution, they do not take well to updosing. You will get 12-14 grams in that double basket. If you try jamming 18 grams in the double it will channel like mad. I go to a triple basket for 17-19 grams. You will have a long heat up cycle. From a cold start, give it an hour and a half. Those machines were designed to be turned on and left on.

Thanks so much for those tips. I thought it would be a long heat time but good to know about the updosing which I have on occasion been known to do in my greed for a fat shot. I'm doing a lot of reading up on grinders while I await delivery of my "Belle" and both the Nino and Robur really stand out. But I think that's gonna be a next year purchase. I'm a 'buy once, buy well' kind of girl so I'll wait a year if I have to to buy either grinder. Plus it gives me time to discover new ones that might fit the bill. I did pick up a PeDe Mokka grinder (as an non electric back up) on Ebay today. Has the certificate and seal which I thought was kinda groovy. But... that's another forum.
