Des Moines / Minneapolis espresso repair

Postby iowaqmfan on Sat Oct 04, 2008 12:07 pm

Anyone know where in the Des Moines Iowa or Minneapolis Minnesota areas to find someone who can repair a Quick Mill espresso machine.
I have one I bought in Switzerland several years ago that needs repair.
Out of warranty so don't need an "official" repair place.
I love it and really want to fix it.
Thanks.

I had an odd experience (http://www.home-barista.com/knockbox/things-that-make-you-go-hmmm-t7705.html) with Espresso Midwest in Minneapolis. I've heard they do a satisfactory job with their service, but would recommend Espresso Services in Minneapolis and start from there. I've purchased parts for my La Cimbali and they seem knowledgeable and friendly to boot!

You can send me a private message if you need any further help or need somebody to visit a local shop for you in the Minneapolis area, I'm always interested in learning about different espresso places in the area.

Sorry if this posting is a little too late if you already found somebody to service your machine, if you need further help just let me know!

Good luck!

I've had, for the most part, a positive experience with Espresso Midwest, and I'm out in California. My newly acquired espresso machine came from a seller out in Minneapolis that knew very little about the machine. I had contracted Espresso Midwest to pickup the machine and run the machine through a diagnostic check. Once everything checked out, they prepared the machine for shipping, crated the machine and sent it on its way. Took longer than I hoped, but it wasn't their fault, just a blizzard that closed everything down (so foreign to us out here in sunny California.)

Getting a hold of them was never a problem. The only thing I had a small problem with was the call backs. On a couple of occasions, I was told I'd get a call back by the end of business day, but never heard from them and I would have to call back the next day to get a follow up.

Overall, I am happy with their service and if I had to do it again, I would not hesitate in contacting them for assistance.
