Deeper E61/Elektra portafilter

Postby Carneiro on Thu Jun 16, 2011 2:46 pm

Hi!

Does anybody know if there is any option of a deeper porta-filter that holds triple baskets to use with an Elektra Semi (or with E61 machines)? Not bottomless, of course.

Or the best option is to file out a Marzocco portafilter?

Most baskets will not hold a triple. Actually, I dont know of any that are deep enough. I have a variety of portafilters and only a bottomless works. Be careful with the LM portafilter. I have one but the lugs are too large for the elektra group bell. The thickness is ok but the lugs are too long by about 1/8 of an inch. I had to file down the lugs for it to fit. All of my Faema style portafilters fit without issue.

Thanks, Dave.

I'll get one or two used LM portafilters from a coffee shop, so no problem in filing it out.

OE has a Faema old style portafilter that seems to hold triple basket. Could be another shot.

Other important fact is that I'm using the 22g VST basket too and it's not so deep as regular triple baskets.
