Dalla Corte descale

Postby Bkeef on Sat Jan 22, 2011 3:51 pm

After reading a few posts it reminded me that I have never descaled my mini. Water quality is good and I have had no reason or symptom to think I have scale issues. Assuming after a year or so it's probably time.

Has anyone done one of these to help me out?
Manual is not very detailed so I will see if anyone has any info.
Thanks
Brian

Time by itself means nothing, unless you know how much scale-building material (if any) has gone into your machine. The best (only?) place for a consumer to go to make a reasonable estimate is Jim Schulman's FAQ: http://www.big-rick.com/coffee/waterfaq.html.

I would caution against unnecessarily frequent descalings. You never know what you may dislodge and plug up your machine's plumbing.

The brew boiler is chromed inside, so the only way to do it proper is to disassemble the machine and wipe it out. If it runs - don't fix it.
