I don't know of any way to replicate the effect of a Scace device short of buying one but for those folks wanting a Fluke digital thermometer it's worth checking eBay. I got mine from a vendor in the LA area who specializes in used instrumetnation. I think he got a boatload of the previous generation model when Fluke introduced the most current version. I paid $32 plus shipping and had to spend another $10 or $15 on a thermocouple. But partner that with a cheap portafilter and an hour or two of time to wire it up and it's worth the investment.

If you are purchasing one for use on a Scace, make sure it will accept the proper thermocouple type. A lot of those discount units will only take type K.

Hello,

So a quick update on a few projects. The Scace tune-up kit will be in place and ready to go just prior to SCAA in Long Beach. We are building Greg's newest device currently and will make them available the first week in May. The kit will require a deposit of the replacement value and a fee of $55.00 US.

I'm currently looking for anyone in Canada willing to help with forwarding of a Canada Tune-up kit, as crossing the border back and forth with a device of questionable appearance is not allot of fun ( Believe me I know ).

This "kit" will include a Scace V 2.0 Thermo/pressure filter and a Fluke 51 II and an instruction set.

If you have an interest in the kit, please P mail me here at H-B. I may not respond, but if your mail hits my PM box here at H-B please know that you will be contacted the first week in May.

As for the correct digital thermometer, I have only had great success with the Fluke 51 II. Make sure whatever you purchase reads T type thermocouples

The other item for update is the tamper roadshow, however, I will comment on that kit in the proper thread.

Cheers,
Terry Z
