Turmix makes conventional machines. If yours is as illustrated, with a conventional pf and group, you may be able to get the correct PF, basket and shower screen for ground coffee at a shop that sells them.

Whether this is worth your time is another question entirely.

I know it's not the best answer but you can buy an entry-level espresso maker (like a Starbucks Barista) for $100 on ebay, and it's not the worst starter machine. Assuming all your internals are in place and can produce the pressure and conditions you want for espresso brewing, you're still missing a steam nozzle (for which you'd want a connection to the boiler, wand and operating valve, a real portafilter and the electronics to select steaming (which heats the boiler from the brewing temperature around 90oC to about 125oC and makes steam). Although a similar espresso machine may be made by the same company, it may be possible that only the outside casing design and frames were shared between these two machine, and that major components like the boiler and pump aren't identical.

Your efforts would be well spent on taking care of a high quality used machine that needs some attention or just getting to perfect your skills on a ready espresso maker. I'm not saying your idea isn't worth considering but there are lots and lots of options out there if you choose to look at some used equipment.

thanks for the input...
It was just an idea in view of the fact that 10-12 years ago this machine was worth 5-600$.
I'll contact TurMix see what they say although i have a sneaky feeling they wont be much help...

I head from someone familiar with the Turmix machines -- they do not convert easily, since the entire group is different. Also. although the machines are xpensive, they are poorly designed and cannot make good espresso. The best advice is to Ebay it, and to buy a Gaggia.

BTW, no grinder, no real espresso. Leave room in your budget for at least a Demoka grinder.
