Cluttered Kitchen Counters

Postby AndyS on Sun Dec 14, 2008 9:50 pm

Do other folks find it hard to keep their kitchen counters uncluttered?

I recently made an effort to remove all unnecessary coffee gear. For a while I had a lot of room, but then new equipment somehow found its way onto the counter. ;-)

I could live with that kind of clutter. Maybe not in "her" kitchen, but certainly in my home office.

When we moved to our new house a couple of months ago my wife searched for a kitchen cart to accommodate my hobby. It works great and the drawers, cabinets add storage so my gear is always within reach. Now we have a common understanding, nothing on my cart, no coffee on her counters!

Oh please pardon the dog...

I like the stainless steel top. Yours looks to be the same as Randy G's:

We've moved and I've temporarily lost my dedicated espresso bar (below). I'm back in "her" kitchen and forced to schlep the Robur in and out of the kitchen when testing.

Arranging space and hookups are still in progress, but I'm at least out of my wife's kitchen. The cabinets are prefabs from Lowes as is the countertop (brown faux marble Formica hides coffee very well). The wire shelves are from a local restaurant supply. The poster over the bar is a blowup of the friends of HB banner printed by Kinkos.

Oh right, I missed that the first time lost among all the clutter. Thanks for pointing it out, Henry.

I call it "organized clutter."

Andy, you shouldn't have posted that. Such a violation of a fine piece of art won't be tolerated here. Please send your confiscated Speedster to

All of that room and you have the M-tre stuck away somewhere? :( Nevermind. I'd move the M-tre to make room for the speedster too.
