Can I replace pressurized portafilter for Breville Cafe Roma?

Hey guys, I'm super new here, but I just perused the forum and couldnt find anything that fully answered my questions.
Background: I'm a college student surviving off of an aeropress. My dad found a new Breville Cafe Roma espresso machine for 60$ (reg 230$).

I'm new to espresso machines, and It took me a few days to realize that my PF was pressurized which has led to it getting clogged and giving me disgusting and inconsistent shots.

Crema is much less important than consistency for me, so should (or can) I try to get a regular portafilter. Will my crummy machine be able to build up the pressure required without a pressurized PF?

Is it a pressurized portafilter or a pressurized filter basket?

Yes, I actually did this to mine.

If you have a lathe (or are careful with a holesaw) you can convert the existing basket into a single-wall and turn the whole thing into a bottomless portafilter as well.

Just make sure you have a grinder or you won't be able to control the flow rate.
