Brasila 1833 rebuild

Postby nhoskins on Tue Oct 18, 2011 9:47 am

I have just acquired an older Brasila machine, single boiler, single head. the plate on the front has 1833 as a the only information other then the electrical information (120 v, 60hz, 1400w) It looks like it overheated, and the switch box and what I believe is the auto water fill control unit are somewhat melted. When it is switched on, the heater comes on, the water level alarm works, the lights work, the pump will run when you press the brew button, but it seems that the solenoid valve directly after the pump will not let water through... there is a picture of this exact machine at the link below

I can take more pictures if there is anyone out there who might be able to tell me how the valve below the pump is supposed to operate, and maybe give me a clue where I might be able to find parts for a machine of this vintage... I would love to get this unit running, but I am lost for a next step. I am thinking that it will need a new control box and a switch unit, (or circuit board anyway) but I would love if an experienced vet would give me a hand!

Thanks,

Noah

Thanks, I will get in touch with them. From their parts manuals, it looks like the control elements on the cappuccino model might cross reference. I wonder if they have a service pro that I might be able to talk to...

Yes, Jeff at Brasilia is dynamite and very helpful. I leaned on him when I had questions over my Brasilia America a few years back.
