Postby drupal on Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:53 pm

Does anyone know where I can find a bottomless portafilter for a Bezzera Z02s?

Thank you.

I'm not sure how unique the group is on the Bezzera (meaning I don't know if it is compatible with generic E-61 portafilters), but a quick look at 1st-line turned up this one for the Bezzera. I have the E-61 equivalent (link) which works great on E-61s (and so-so in Rancilio).

EDIT, I think you can use a Pasquini Livia portafilter, here is another at Chriscoffee.com (link).

Also, while YMMV, I'm no fan of using a triple basket, so you may wish to see if you can substitute a standard basket, or maybe use the triple basket the way AndyS does  .

Bezzera as a different one than E-61 grouphead (bezzera is the same as brasilia and astoria)

I actually like the triple baskets but probably for a different reason. I have on hand one of the LM triples and the Faema style triple. My Elektra does not take well to up dosing so to use 18 grams of coffee, I need the triple to get adequate headspace. I have been using them for a couple months now and like the added volume and taste. I can get a full 2oz drink instead of the 1.5 I get with the factory basket which is particularly nice when making a 6 ounce cappuccino.

I bought one from Espressoparts.com. Although they don't carry Bezzera they were more than willing to sell me the correct one. They're good guys, drop them a line and they'll help you out.
I use it exclusively now while my stock PF gathers dust.

Cheers,

Troy,

I did email them and they said they thought the Bezzera would work with the astoria type portafilter. Is that what they sold you?

I believe that is correct. It's a safe bet if both Stefano and espressoparts think it'll fit.
