Boiler safety valve is hissing at 0.5 bar, bad spring? - Page 2

I did not know about flare nut wrenches. Just ordered a set on Amazon. Thanks.

I replaced the entire BSV with a "certified" one purchased from Cafe Parts. After re-adjusting the pstat, the boiler now turns on @ 0.9 bar and turns off @ 1.1 bars. Thanks for your help everyone!

The only problem I have now is low brew pressure. I'm getting 6 bars no-flow pressure using a PF pressure gauge. I've adjusted the OPV for a Gaggia Classic before, but how exactly do I adjust the OPV for the Bric?

And you are feeding Mr. Bric with filtered, softened water via a pressure regulator set at 25-35 psi ?

The OPV on rotary pump machines is a "thermal" OPV designed to protect the heat exchanger from over-pressurization due to the thermal expansion of water contained therein. The brew pressure of these machines is set via a regulating/relief valve on the pump itself.

I am feeding it filtered water @ 100 TDS, but this is the vibe/tank model.

Oh.

Some pics of the Bric's interior would be helpful to provide info on the OPV. Where did you obtain the PF pressure gage? A very accurate gage setup for your thermometer adaptor is available which would allow you to read pressure during a REAL shot. It takes all of thirty seconds to install.

I built the PF gauge myself, but it's now leaking so maybe I need a better gauge before I change the OPV. How do I attach a pressure gauge to your adapter?
