Auber PID price difference

Postby kewltea on Wed Nov 09, 2011 5:03 pm

I was looking at a Auber PID for my Silvia and noticed a big price difference between just the standalone PID and the kit for the Silvia. Are there other pricey components that come with the kit?

The kit is complete with all hardware to install:

The kit includes:
•Custom manufactured PID temperature controller with parameters set for the machine.
•Controller box with stainless steel panel that matches the brush finish of the machine.
•Solid state relay with mounting hardware and heat conductive paste.
• Platinum RTD temperature sensor.
• High temperature resistant wires, color coded, cut to length and terminated with proper connectors
•Instructional CD with text and photos.

The stand alone version is just the PID unit without everything listed above. If you've never installed a PID, get the kit.

If you get the stand alone, you still need the temp sensor, SSR (relay) and a way to mount the PID. I don't know if you could do it cheaper without the kit but the kit makes it easy and professional looking.
