Wow that is less interesting that copper spray paint.

How about you test out OE's new powder coating setup?

You mean orphan espresso?

I could but I feel that would be quite expensive.. also im not even sure on a color!

I think it would be cool to use plexi or something clear... but not sure how feasible that is

I just thought that they were working on their setup, and you are searching for something, well, different...

Thought It may be a 1+1=3 thing.

Never mind.

I like the compactness of your Junior. It makes my SME look huge! The frame is looking good. What do you have planned for the panels?

Is that a PID tie-wrapped to the left side? Where did you get your group thermocouple adapter? I have the same or similar group as you, and I'd like to monitor the group temp in that same location.

Ross,

I got it from Beswick.. check this thread:

Alternative to Erics E61 adapter

If you call up ask for sean and tell him you know Ilya - the price is very cheap! (not the 50 or so eric wants for the adapter)

Also it is a PID (temporary until my temperature reader gets here) and all its doing is showing grouphead temp.

Interestingly I haven't seen it hit crazy hot temperatures. If I let it warm up for a while and flush the group, the temp is about 190F or so.. I thought HX machines overheated by a lot? My pstat is set to between 1 and 1.5 bar (green zone on my pressure gauge).

I am going to take another pic of the front tomorrow (there's going to be a surprise so stay tuned!)

Also Ross, our machines are exactly the same... just looks small in picture - but we have the same exact model with all of the same specs

The water in the HX tube that runs through the boiler can superheat under pressure over 212F. When you are talking about HX's overheating this is most often what you are dealing with. Strangely most HX heads need a short heating flush to get them ready to brew if they sit idle more than a couple of minutes.

Of course when you talk about any two different HX machine designs these variables will slightly change due to differences in head design, heat flow from boiler to group, and the design of the boiler/HX and the configuration of those parts in relationship to the heater in the boiler.

So is your heating flush really cooling the HX down, or is your cooling flush really warming up your group. Only you will ever know.

Thanks - I'll check that out. Which Omega TC did you select for your group?

All the same except for the footprint. They look to be the same height and depth, but the Junior is not as wide. And, doesn't it have the motor inboard? They really crammed a lot in a little space.

I see you've mounted your dosing button control panel from the inside - was the back missing? They should mount from the outside so the flange fits into the recessed well in the SS panel. The removeable back of the control box draws the flange tight to the SS panel.

Nice job with the gold leaf. A clever way to restore the badge and add some bling.
