Hello

My shiny new Ascaso steel uno pro arrived today. I am relatively new to the coffee scene although i love it hugely and this seemed like a great starting machine.

In the filter holders for both the single, double and pod filter holders there is a ring of grey plastic between the base of the filter and the filter wall.

It seems to be quite solidly in place. I'm not sure if i should try to remove it or not. In my research i cant remember seeing any plastic in the filter holder on any machine so this seems unusual. It also has a single tab sticking up which might indicate your supposed to pull it off and im worried this tab would interfere with tamping.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks

Adam,

Welcome to HB!

They sound line Supercream, pressurized or crema-enhancing baskets.

Here's a thread asking a similar question.

Are these things in the filter basket itself or the portafilter? Do they cover the entire bottom of the filter? Can you post a picture or point us to one?

Hi

Thanks for the replies, i will get some pictures up shortly.

I think im using the correct terminology for what bits are what, but is there an exploded diagram view of an example machine? or an index of parts?

Thanks

Adam
