Yes, I've decided on C. But what I mean is that I'm having trouble figuring out how to start a project or how to compile. Some headway already.

Nathan, what embedded platform are you using? And how about the Linux distribution?

Hey,

I'm trying to use OpenWRT as the platform. It's an Atheros based router called the Meraki Mini. It has but easy GPIO pins that I can hook a daughterboard too.

I'm just a little unsure how to interface with the GPIOs, though there is information in regards to setting them up for i2c.

Damn it, only now I realize that Bourbon isn't PID. Oh well, will try with Kona and see.

An update on my progress: I am getting up to speed on Eagle and starting to work on a board layout based on the TC4 design. This will include all of the TC4 components but add two more SSR drivers and integrate the LCD screen driver on the same board. In addition, I am in the process of putting together my probe setup, which I will describe in my rebuild thread.

Thanks again to the TC4 creators!

So you're adding the I2C port expander for the LCD?
If so, you could also use the other 1/2 of it for push button inputs.
To get all of this on one board, it would have to exceed the standard Arduino shield size, is it going to be the size of a Mega shield? Regardless, sounds like a nice board with a lot of features. It would also work well with my roaster PID program.

Randy, I will be using an Arduino Mega2560 and I intend to bring up all of its pins in my shield design using the stackable headers (you know, just in case :D ). Now that my homeroasters.org account has been activated, I'll continue the discussion in the TC4 thread due to my proximity to that project.

A quick heads up: the new TC4 version 4.00 boards have been ordered and should arrive no later than mid-March. I'll start taking orders as soon as I've tested the new boards.

Jim, can you comment on the changes from 3.00 to 4.00, if any?

Thanks!

EDIT: I see that the description is posted here. Thanks again!
