I seem to have created this problem for myself this morning.
In an effort to sterilize my reservoir, I poured in some water just off-the-boil. I noticed some bubbles venting from one of the floats. The heat caused the contents of the float to expand and release some air, which was then replaced by a couple ml of water.
There is a crosshatch slit in the bottom of the float with a microscopic opening, apparently large enough for air to escape when under a little pressure. But it doesn't look like it will be easy to remove the residual water. I have the floats sitting out on the counter hoping they will dry out a bit by tomorrow.
I wonder if I have the
new or old style floats?
Lesson learned: Do not pour 200F water into the reservoir unless you have removed the float assembly first.
