About to buy a La Marzocco GS3 but need some guidance

Postby misterdoggy on Sat Jun 27, 2009 7:44 am

about to pull the trigger on a GS3. I have done some searches for a GS3 user/owners manual but have not come up with anything. Can anyone point to where I can download one ?

From those who have one is there any new features that I should make sure to have ie: steam wand (230V version)

I will probably get the black sided, reservoir/watertank version. Are there things to be aware of when ordering ? and to avoid problems. Like the problems of vibration.

Also the "paddle" version, I am trying to understand how it functions.

It has so many features/possibilities I find it a little overwhelming. Any help in direction would be appreciated. :)

I can't answer you specifically, but if you haven't yet read them, here are 2 threads from Coffeegeek that should be of help.

I live about 5 hours from Florence so I will arrange to pick up the machine at the factory and try to get a first hand demo about setting up and using the machine. I speak Italian so I will try to find out everything I need to know. Also picking up the machine, set it up there, and then no shipping where things can get bounced around. Put it in the trunk and off to home. Eat a good Florentine meal makings of a perfect day.

Unless the direct purchase is saving you a lot of money, this isn't necessarily a good idea. It is the local dealer's job to thoroughly check the machine out and make any necessary adjustments, which is something these machines frequently need. Plus, many dealers will set them up in your home, which is what they customarily do for their commercial accounts.

Oh, and expect to hear from Dan shortly about running parallel threads on CoffeeGeek.

that is not my thread on coffeegeek ?

Just a coincidence someone else is looking for a paddle or non paddle. Can't be many of us, but it aint me

Also I live in the French Alpes and there are no local people that could possibly accomplish the task.

If I have future problems I can shoot back Milan for help as well as its less than 3 hours

Marshall, 11 days ago I posted a comment on the owners thread asking if the problems of the GS3 had been sorted out or not, but this thread is about what things to "include" in the machine I am ordering. I think that it is not duplicating anything .... Also I am asking about finding the manual which is important to understand what you are ordering in advance.

The GS/3 user's manual, programming guide, and parts catalog are available on the GS/3 Cafe forum.
