4 group la marzocco linea.....flowmeter replacement

Postby wakeuponthego on Wed Jan 11, 2012 5:00 pm

Hello,
I recently invested in an espresso trailer for events. I was able to score on a 4 group linea for an AMAZING deal.....

However I now know why it was an amazing deal.....

Once I filled the boiler and began to re-test each grouphead.....i realized water was spewing from the rubber gasket in the flowmeter.....

Can anyone give me pointers on how to replace it? Also a good company to order a replacement from?
Thanks!

It's extremely simple to replace. Just remove the 3 allen head screws from the top of the flowmeter and the two halves come right apart.

While you're in there you may want to check for scale as it tends to settle there.

Order the gasket anywhere - it's pretty standard... espressoparts, etc

Uhhh. How does the rest of the machine look?
Do you get freezing temperatures in your area? These machines can take a fair bit of damage from freezing if filled with water - the flowmeters are just one spot. What do the boilers look like?

If it isn't freeze damage you should be in good shape.
If it is....well, it isn't the end of the world, but can be a significant investment of time/money.

Good luck!
