Counter Culture's Forty-Six

I'm not sure that this coffee is wowing me per se, but it is pretty good.. I would classify it as a comfort blend.. similar in taste to Red Bird's Espresso.

It's very smokey and chocolatey, especially at a higher extraction yield (currently 17g in 40 out). It's honestly underwhelming and ashy in a latte, but it's decent in a capp. I probably wouldn't use this as espresso on a regular basis, but rather as a crowd pleaser's drip offering.

Personally though, it's a bit on the dark side.. but extremely easy to pull. I'll be pulling Idido's new harvest after I run out.

Counter Culture Idido
as espresso

It's a citrus BOMB

I've always loved Idido, but this new harvest is some tasty stuff. Exceptional as espresso, stands up well in a capp too. I would be wary to add too much milk to this, it really is a shot drinker's nirvana. (It's super great for drip, and makes an astounding Japanese style iced pourover.. but you probably already knew that)

Params:

18.5g dose
40g yield
26 seconds
200F

Now that you mention it, we also have no posts about coffee that was so much worse than expected that it wowed.

Onyx Red Queen.....20g dose, 50g yield, 34 seconds 202.3F

Probably the best I've tasted from Onyx, aside from their Ozark which is dark chocolate covered blueberry heaven!

I have loved some cc in the past, but this particular recommendation was really confusing. Made me wasn't to avoid it rather than get it:)
