Kenya Kiamariga AA from Perc Coffee in Savannah ...did a Chemex brew with a Kone filter. Excellent cup, one of the best I've had in a long time. Silky, dense mouth-feel with a spicy depth and a mild flavorful finish. Overall, a lovely texture and taste. Highly recommend!

After a 3 year period of exclusively buying greens from Sweet Marias, I find myself on an extended overseas work assignment and trying out beans from a variety of great roasters across the US.

Right now I'm going through a pound of Bodka's Misty Valley - it's an Ethiopian but more specific than that I don't know. I brew it Clever at 33g/450g/4min infusion, and since taking my Lido2 apart for cleaning, I'm grinding much finer than I used to, and it's doing good things to the coffee - not espresso grind, but finer than classic drip. It is certainly Ethiopian, has the classic bright opening with a soft fruity finish. It may not be the Konga, but it is an excellent drinking coffee. Can't tell you about all the chocolate, caramel, sandlewood, apple, tart plum, or other flavors in the middle, as I didn't get any of that. It does taste like coffee though, and really good coffee. :)

Second round with Mountain Air Aricha. I've had inconsistent experiences with some of his offerings, but the Aricha (and virtually every other variety of yirg) I've got from him has been awesome. Tasting notes are spot-on, especially the tamarind.

Lately I have been really digging Onyx Coffee Lab's roasts of La Palma y El Tucan coffees from Colombia. So far I've tried the Jamie Gamez lot and the Jose Reyes Lot #21. La Palma y El Tucan is a farm/mill that experiments with processing techniques - these two coffees featured at Onyx are washed process and the fermentation is measure and controlled to promote lactic acid production - giving the coffee a hint tart/sourness that is very interesting and enjoyable.

For me, the Jamie Gamez lot I enjoyed a little more, with notes of pink tropical fruit, stone fruit, rose, and a light, tart melon finish; however the Jose Reyes lot #21 is amazing as well, with a blackberry/wine start, grape middle, and honeydew melon finish.

Picked up some George Howell Kangunu yesterday at the Howell cafe just outside Boston. Very impressed with this coffee! A bit on the pricey side, but I'm enjoying it a great deal.

I just had two cups of Verve's Ethiopian Kokanna today and was impressed. It was really fragrant, perfumey and light at the same time. Really delicious!

Sadly, my bag is gone! It was one of the best coffee's I've had in a loong time though. It was worth the drive and traffic.

George Howell's mail order is pretty fast (if you live in MA) Although the mail order does drive the price up a bit. But yeah this is coffee is WONDERFUL! One of the better bags I have had in a while as well.

Another one that was close was Temple's Ethopian BOKE SOE (used in a moka pot at my house)

Enjoying San Jose de Pedregal Colombian coffee from George Howell as a pour over in Kalita 185.

Has a flavor that I am not sure about. But is wonderful! (almost like a hot tottey without the whiskey kick??)

And am looking forward to trying my first coffee from Rwanda from CQ Roasters in New Hamsphire. Should be arriving just as the coffee mentioned above is being finished.
