It was nice meeting you at The Green Spot this morning Ryan. The espresso drinks you pulled for me were excellent, and I appreciate all the pointers and just having a chance to chat about espresso face to face with someone from the forum.

Most of the coffees I ordered on Wednesday arrived today, so in addition to the Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters Hidden City Espresso that I bought there at The Green Spot today, I have the following now on hand:

Counter Culture: Toscano, Aficionado, and Apollo
Stumptown: Hairbender
Espresso Vivace: Vita, Dolce
Red Bird: Red Bird

The only one I ordered that hasn't been delivered yet is Intelligentsia Black Cat Classic.

I'll be freezing the bulk of these coffees in 4 oz containers so they don't get too old before I can use them.

Skip,

Thanks again for making the trip out to try the espresso drinks at the Green Spot -- glad you liked them, and you are welcome any time. How are you enjoying your new home setup so far?

Skip,
Sounds as if your freezer is quite full. When you work through your current stash,I recommend you try Spitfire from Evocation in Texas. I have tried most of those you have on hand and have found Spitfire to be one of my favorites.

Ryan, I have to say that I enjoy looking at my new machine. It's a work of art. 8) Unfortunately, the plumb-in is not going quickly. I'm almost ready to concede that Erics was right when he told me in another thread that the pour over type machine was more practical. It actually wouldn't be for me since I don't have any counter space that isn't under a cabinet, and the VBM is big and weighs 60 pounds, but at least I'd be enjoying espresso by now.

Fortunately, I have a big freezer, Basil. Two in fact, but yes all that coffee did consume a fair amount of space. I have two big 2.5 gallon zip lock bags that are filled with many smaller vacuum-sealed and well-labeled bags of coffee. I decided to go with vacuum bags (FoodSaver style) over canning jars to save space.

I see that Evocation coffee hails from Amarillo. I should be able to get next day delivery if shipped UPS or USPS Priority Mail. I've added Spitfire to my list and will give it a try when I've worked my way through 50% or so of my current selections. Thank you for the recommendation, as I'm very interested in quality local and regional roasters.
