My local grocer is Italian and has the entire range of Illy whole bean cans in stock, including the single origin ones.
I just wanted to experiment and see what they come out like. Illy is big world wide and they ship these cans everywhere. I know all the busy shops in Italy have the 3kg Illy tins screwed right into the Mazzer grinders. They don't make terrible coffee either. But I suspect they're getting quite fresh beans from commercial distribution in Italy.
Not a big fan of dark roasts. I'm all for sweet and chocolaty, but if it hints of charcoal at all, I'm not going for it.
