Way back in November I asked if anyone had heard of them, Rook Coffee Roasters
No one had, but it took me till last week to actually place an order. I missed the Thursday cut off by a few hours so they mailed out my beans Monday afternoon, (roast date that morning, April and they showed up yesterday. http://www.rookcoffeeroasters.com/product_p/flores.htm
Pulled two shots immediately, dialing in the grinder. The pulls have a LOT of air and the crema is very "fluffy" like whipped cream, I'm guessing it just needs another 1-2 days to degas a bit but the taste is amazing. I strongly prefer beans from Central America, but this has opened my eyes to explore other regions again.
This morning's shot (3rd pull from this bag):
Price shipped was a little over $18 / pound. I do have a local roaster about 12 miles from me who charges $16-17 / pound but lately has had limited single origin choices and I'm not sure why, but their beans are always very oily, causing grind issues in my Le'Lit PL53 grinder. I'd rather save the 30 minute round trip + gas to just order from these guys. Next time I'll order 2 bags (shipping is the same price) which will drive the cost per bag down to $16ish / pound.

If you were to visit the Jersey shores this summer, you should stop by one of their 3 cafes and stock up on beans. I've been meaning to visit them to try out their coffees. Maybe this summer...
