Roaster recommendations in Italy/Spain?

Postby vinalopo on Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:33 am

Good afternoon,
I am currently living in Italy (and within some months back living for 1/2 of my time in Spain) and I am looking for local good roasters where I can source freshly roasted and outstanding beans (or national ones selling via Intenet) based in Parma, Italy and Madrid, Spain.
I didn't see many Italian and Spanish people here but maybe you can help me.

Thank you!

Contact a company called Roure Tectosa. They manufacture world class roasters (that are so beautiful!). They do not roast beans themselves, but with them being in Barcelona, Spain I am sure they have sold many roasters within the country. Whenever I have emailed the company the owner is the one responding to me and he is very personable. Shoot them an email and see if they have record of any roasters in your area purchasing a roaster from them.

I believe the OP was looking for good coffee roasters in Italy or Spain, that is to say the retailers of roasted coffee beans who do the roasting themselves, and not the manufacturers of the roasting equipment itself.

I fully understood what he asked. I do not know of any roasters (people) in Spain or Italy, but I do know that arguably one of the best roaster manufacturers in the world happens to be in Barcelona. With that said, I am sure that Jamie Roure Padros, the owner of Roure Tectosa, would know of many exceptional roasters (the people who roast the coffee) within Spain. For example, Counter Culture owns a Roure roaster, and I am sure Jamie Roure Padros could have told you this had you emailed Roure Tectosa, S.L. Just an idea.
