The Sweet Blue I received from Jeff in late August was roasted to a nice Full City (no 2C) from the look of the beans. No issues with foaming or over flowing cups. I froze it in vac sealed jars 4 days post roast. I pull a jar out of the deep freeze the night before & start using it the next day. Prime seems to be in the 6-8 day period. My shots are pretty much as Cmin describes in the first post of this thread.

The Blue Jag hits prime pretty much the same time. I'd open the bag & give it a try. If you get the same bitter results either your machine needs a good detergent cleaning or Jeff is having some serious roasting issues. I'm going to ask Jeff if he'll take a look at this thread as I know one other person that has had poor results with Sweet Blue roasted in the last two weeks.

Thanks for the tip on this one! Red Bird Espresso and Blue Jaguar are long-time favorites. Actually the are about all I have ordered for the last couple years, after trying a lot of other options from around the US. But Redbird Sweet Blue is the first time I really picked up a cocoa aftertaste. Kind of fun, and an educational experience for a novice like me.
