Some day I'll need to get 2 lbs of Jeff's Yirg or Sidama and blend it with 3 lbs of his Sweet Blue to see how that brews as espresso. I'm guessing awesome.

Just thought Id quickly say, after going through all the sweet blue and most of the Redbird..

The Redbird was as usual. Good, gets to be where it looks like its gonna be awesome.. and then falls back down. This isn't an insult, I like the coffee enough to order it more then occasionally. It just never reaches that peak that I feel its capable of. Very solid simple coffee though.

The Sweet Blue Brazil stunned me. Seriously. This is definitely, IMO, the best of their espresso blends. That milk chocolate flavor is so dominant, and the nutty caramel-esque to go with it.. wowza. Yeah, really really good if thats your kinda flavor profile. I flew through the bag.

I am a big fan of Brazil Sweet Blue in my Aeropress. Very smooth taste, although one coworker described it as bland. In fact I like it so much, I ordered some Blue Jaguar espresso on my last order but haven't tried it yet (Yes I freeze my coffee, doesn't affect the taste to my palate).

With the Sidama I believe that would be excellent. Jeff's Yirg Aricha has a distinct citrus note that I love in my FP but I don't think would jive in an espresso.

Sweet Blue was out of stock when I tried to order on Wednesday, but I went with some Blue Jag as a compromise. Wow, that did not disappoint. I've been getting into home roasting lately and doing a lot of Brazils since they are hard to screw up. I think I'm going to set Blue Jaguar as my ideal model blend.

Theta Ridge offers green Daterra coffees including the Sweet Blue if you're interested in roasting some yourself. I keep a few pounds in my stash.

Tried the Blue Jaguar last June... I remember lattes that tasted reminiscent of hot cocoa, not too overpowering.. but very delicious. Since Sweet Blue is a component, I might have to pick up some of that.

I put in an order for Sweet Blue on Saturday, and Jeff shipped it this morning.

John - I think you will really enjoy the Sweet Blue. I noticed earlier you mentioned mixing the Sidama with Sweet Blue - I have been mixing the Sweet Blue with his Wote Konga Yirg for quite some time (currently out of stock - June restock? - I hope he gets more) and it has been awesome. I have also mixed the sidama, Aricha and Sweet Blue together with great results - and put a little Moka Peaberry in there too with interesting results.

Redbird has a great base offering that provides price to value that is top notch when compared to many internet providers. I have tried many of Redbirds offerings using Press, Lever and Hx (Coffex) and very pleased with the results.
If I could just like crappy coffee again, it would sure save a lot of time and money!

Always wondered what Sweet Blue and Blue Jag taste like vs Redbird
