Recommendations for drip coffee...

Postby BDD888 on Tue Mar 22, 2011 4:36 pm

I recently received my new Technivorm KBT741 and Baratza Virtuoso grinder. Bought some Kenyan AA, Jamaican BM and Kona Fancy roasted beans (medium). Only tried the Kenyan AA so far. Love the aroma and taste!!

What are your top 3 picks and why? Any preferences for beans from Latin America? Opinions on beans from Indonesia?

You have a nice home setup to explore coffee at home.

Try to find some good roaster, in Canada you may find easily 49th parallel, some intelligentsia and much more.

It really depends on the farm and the coffee they produce than the region. While each terroir as it's own influence on the seed, the farming and processing is a bigger factor for quality coffee.

Thanks Marc. I did find 49th Parallel's website. Canadian roaster/company. Not much selection. But might try their offerings later anyway. But as for Intelligentsia that's more a Californian company. We do have many good roasters here in Toronto. I know of a few. Takes time to find out who is best and what blends I prefer. part of the fun. Meanwhile I'll have some Kenyan AA. :)

Haven't had a proper cup of espresso or latte yet. Might end up buying an espresso machine and a better grinder later too. Running out of counter space already. :)

Best coffee for french press was just posted yesterday and the responses are applicable to drip brewed coffee.
