Your Philly-area order arrived 8 days post roast? I don't see a Philly-area order through ROASTe.com. Don't hesitate to contact us if it did so we can give you some support.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your thoughtful comments here. Just wanted to confirm that all of the coffees from Rusty's Hawaiian are roasted to order, including The Pete Licata Espresso.

As was stated earlier, ROASTe doesn't warehouse roasted coffee. After ROASTe sends us the orders, we roast and ship within 24 hours to customers. Shipping typically takes 2-3 days to the West Coast and 3-5 days to the East Coast.

Based on your feedback, we'll stamp roast dates on future orders.

Thank you again,
Joan

Aloha, Scott,

Thanks for your feedback here and to ROASTe. I checked with Lorie, and she says she roasted it on the morning of Sept. 30 and shipped it out the same day to you.

As I noted in my previous post, we'll include roast dates on future bags to avoid confusion.

Thank you,
Joan

Dave lives in the Downingtown, PA area...still considered the Philly area. As noted, my order arrived in 4 days, and is excellent! I am glad they will now add a roast date.

Thank you, sorry for the late reply. I've had my head in too many different threads to jump back in here. I friended him on FB, but he's popular now with 1100 or so "friends" so emailing hasn't done much. I wrote on his wall yesterday, maybe that can get the ball rolling. Certainly don't want to be too stalker-ish. If it happens, it would be awesome, especially since it's my first time ever going to Hawaii, and the fact that I already got to meet Alejandro this year.

If I can meet him, I'll post a pic or comment.

Tom, just an FYI if you're coming to Oahu, there are some coffee shops getting a buzz in Honolulu. This article discusses a couple of them. This shop is also interesting.

Apparently we're just doing Maui, unless there is a big change of plans. We will be there for 7 days, and Im going as as a guest i might be asked for input, so if I can get my friend and her family to island hop with me, I'll try to make it.

I see you roast. Swing by and snag some Maui Mokka. The #14 was quite good this crop year: http://www.kaanapalicoffeefarms.com/coffee/coffee.html. Can be a bugger to roast because the cracks are so soft.

Maui is very nice, but not much of a coffee culture.

Any "Kona" traps to avoid while there? I'd like to be a more informed buyer, than your typical tourist that proudly boasts of his fancy Kona Coffee, only to have some sub-par blend at a huge mark up.

The thought of modifying my travels into coffee expeditions is becoming quite fun. Although, I didn't have much luck in Peru this Sprng. El Salvador was a blast. As was Guatemala. In Peru, the towns I visited weren't known for coffee, and the one small bag of green coffee I was able to find for sale, looked quite poor quality.
