News about Ethiopian low caffeine coffee?

Postby realdoctor on Thu Oct 21, 2010 12:57 pm

A few years ago, the New York Times carried an article about a new varietal in Ethiopia with so little caffeine that it could be used as a decaf without special processing. There was a discussion of it on alt.coffee at the time.

Does anyone know what happened? I have heard nothing about this new varietal since the original news report and discussion.
