Looking for that particular espresso blend - Page 2

Klatch Belle is a great "comfort food" blend, which is pretty forgiving on a variety of hardware. Updose, and pull to the first sign of blonding. This coffee actually suffers when pulled too short.

Barefoot Boss, while not local, might be
to your liking too. Consider also Caffe Fresco Ambrosia.

Thank you Mike, Chris, and Jim for giving me such a details and followup explanation. That's was I'm looking for. I will consider those options.

TristanC and Danetrainer I wll look at those homepages.

Jason, I wish I can put to word to describe why I didn't think much about Intelligentsia. I believed I did try their black cat on site. As matter of fact, I posted my experience before, I ordered one espresso, macchiato, and a latte for my wife. I sample all three ... the taste was nothing significant. The body or the texture of the feel wasn't really there. FYI, I actually follow up later that day to visit Urth Cafe...a more commercial and happening place which btw, in my opinion, makes a better latte.

Once again Thank you all for your great inputs.

Supreme Bean Ring of Fire and Supreme Bean Espresso Palermo are roasted in No. Hollywood.
Neither are overly citrus-y.

Supreme Bean took over roasting for Rocky Roaster in late 2009.
Two favorite RR blends are Organic and Romano.

Supreme Bean is a sizable roaster. They roast every day. Pallets of coffee leave there every day. Some blends are post roast. They always have to check to see if they have the blend components available. After months of nothing but "Today" or "Yesterday" in response to "when was it roasted?", I quit asking. Freshness has never been an issue.

I was just in LA for a few days and as the weather would have it, spent a fair amount of time in coffee bars, Intelli and LaMill for the most part. Try the LaMill 'Bliss" blend it's (to my taste) quite rich-They're out in Silverlake a short drive from Intelli.
Of the northern bay area roasters I've tried recently, Verve has a pretty rich blend going on with 'The Sermon'. From my area (Vancouver) 49th Parallels' 'Epic" blend is rather rich as well.
To my taste Ecco is a bit more subtle and I as of yet have not found the deep dark comfort of chocolate, superb roasts of elegance and nuance. More nut and fruit the way I do it.
