Earlier today Coffee-Review posted on their site and Facebook about the first 97 point coffee since 2012 and only second ever to score as high, from Panama by way of Klatch.

Descriptors like passion fruit get me every time.

That coffee sounds amazing, wish I could order a cup instead of a bag.

Probably at $10! Of course, you'd have to hope the Hario/Kalita, etc barista was the best one in the shop.
Given the slightest distraction, I can ruin even a Kalita session.

Arrived this morning, roasted on the 8th, it's potent even for a superstar geisha and a bit rough. It hits all the hyper sparkling complex fruits, notably mandarin and guava with some vibrant acidity. I'm hoping for more sweetness to emerge but I imagine it's going to be mind blowing in another few days.

No improvement Thursday morning. Still complex and potent but lacking sweetness almost entirely. It's almost tangy. I've heard from others who's findings mirror my own. I might skip Friday morning and just wait. I know Geisha's tend to take longer to unveil all they have to offer, but it's usually along the lines of rounding out the weight of the aromatics or certain jasmine-floral, or fruit notes, never sweetness, that usually reveals itself quite early.

I ordered a cup at a Klatch shop and found it a little underextracted, but still a sparkling geisha. My bag came Tuesday. Yesterday shared a cup with several heads out here, and we were all really happy with it, but detected a roast note at the end; interested in hearing your experience. Hoping days 7 - 10 (usual geisha optimum window I've found) make me happy to have paid $55/8oz for this.

How did the last batch fare as it aged?

I had a cup today - somewhat improved. Lost the roast note I was getting. It's definitely sweet sweet sweet all over the cup. I can't complain, it's a great coffee, it's just not $100/lb-great imho. Cupped it at a shop and we all agreed it was very good, but a little overhyped.
