El Injerto auction, 2011

Boomshakalaka! Year in and year out, El Injerto's bourbon has been one of my tippy tippy top favorites; for drip and single origin espresso. But, I haven't tasted any El Injerto since 2007, because I'm in school with no income. So, I've never tried any of El Injerto's mocca, pacamara, maragogype or geisha; nor have I tried their coffees since they began to vac pack their raws - important for auction coffees, especially pacamaras! Next year, even if I have to travel to Guatemala or the Moon, I will cup all of their coffees. This year, I would appreciate any of your tasting notes, so that I might get a little taste through your words.

Yikes...$211.50 per lb for 15lbs (yes...$3,263.45) of the available "Mocca" ! I hope it meets their expectations!

Whoa. That's a lot of money for a beverage.

Looking at the buyers; Tokyo or Taipei seems more promising. Stumptown got all the peaberries from Finca Capadocia. I had the Bourbon from there two years ago, very nice!

Stumptown already has the bourbon lot, not the auction though. It's good but not over the top, looking forward to those auction lot!

"Good but not over the top"?!?!?!

Ummm... not to be a dick, but I just cupped it along with 10 auction lots and, ummm... it kicks some mighty ass.

the ones they are offering right now at stumptown? I gave it a 87.5 . It's one of the best Guat I've had this year but I just expected a bit more from it.

Hey Marc. Do you remember what month(s) you tried it in?

Edit: I should also ask: How did you brew it?

If you always try fresh arrivals like El Injerto bourbon, I hope you will keep it up! I already get the feeling that Malachi does.
