Ecco Caffe Serra Do Bone Brazil - Page 2

I've been working with this bean the past couple of days. Man.. this is gooood stuff.

The description from Ecco is pretty right on. Sweet Lime and Cocoa, Brulee and smooth caramel on the back. Ive also been getting some orange peel in there... verrry subtle, but there.

Ive been dosing 19-19.5gr, using the Synesso 14gr basket, Pulling ~1.75 oz in 30-32 seconds. I backflushed my machine right before I broke into this coffee, so Ive not noticed any fish-oil like tastes. Overall, Im pretty impressed with this coffee.

Id say its about medium body, very smooth, and the flavors are subtle, except for the bruleed sugar on the back. Im pulling it at 199-198(can't be 100% sure on an HX). The shot is completely lost for me in milk, unless its a machiatto. My normal "traditional" cap, is a double shot in a 5oz cup, milk to the top. in a drink that size, ALL I get is caramel.. but not the smooth creamy caramel like in the shot.. Its almost like roast note caramel. Definitely not a milk-drink bean.. for me anyway. But, since Im not a big milk guy to begin with, this bean has been just awesome, and also, pretty easy to pull consistently once I got it dialed in.

Overall, I would say it's a winner. Pick some up, sooner then later.

i have been pulling 19g shots at 94 degrees C, 25 - 30 seconds; great stuff; the other recent offerings, yellow burbon and la maravilla, are also highly recommended 8)

I just opened the Yellow Burbon Cachoeira. Unbelievably good. I may be missing the full flavors of this by making a latte with it, but this is the best bean I've ever tasted.

The Burbon needs it's own thread. I would love to hear the reviews from other forum members.

the yellow burbon is great in a latte; for me, 94 degrees C, 19gs, 25- 30 seconds; think i may prefer this to the serra do bone 8)

Its almost time to place my order again.. I'll probably put it in over the weekend, for delivery on thursday.

This time, it will be the Maravilla, which Ive been dying to try, the Yellow bourbon, and then either the Reserve or the Organic.. Its a tough decision which I like more. It doesn't matter to me if the beans are organic or not.. its the flavor. And its a tough decision between the two blends.

The coffee from Ecco is fantastic.. Im upset that I havent tried them sooner. Even though I try to only do 2-3orders from one roaster and then move on.. Ecco will be going on my list of favorites to return too. Really fantastic coffee.

Whats this Experimental Espresso Club I read? Couldn't find any info on the site.. Do I need to be invited or somethin? Im interested in trying out stuff they working with.. If this order was ANY indication of things to come, Im in.
