Counter Culture Cinco de Junio (NIC) SOE

Postby appa on Mon Aug 01, 2011 10:43 am

Hi all,
Wanted to see if anyone has tried this Nicaraguan SOE yet.
I just tried some on days 2-3.
At 14 grams , I was definitely tasting the blackberry
but still felt too fresh.

Gonna wait a few more days to see how it develops

Thanks

I just got a bag of the Cinco de Junio that was roasted 2 days ago. So far I'm liking the shots with 18g dose and about 24g extraction. It's very sweet and fruity, but still tastes a little fresh. I'll update later after it's had some rest.

Thanks frank,

After a week rest, I was getting good results with 16.5 grams, yielding
a bit less than 1.5oz. The nice dark berry flavor was still there, a bit less
so than @2-3days, but overall was much better in terms of body and balance.

So far, Im liking this one better than the current Apollo.

After trial and error, and advice from Jim Schulman, I have noticed that my parameters
match CC's recommendations after 2 weeks. Ill try upping it again and see what happens.

5 days post roast and Wow!! I'm not really a fan of dark chocolate but the fruitiness of this coffee won me over!!

I know I'm no expert at describing flavors but I am a big fan of plum and this has it aplenty!! Almost as good as my "goat dance" experience at Caffe Streets!!! Sort of tastes like dark chocolate covered plums!

200 degrees
20 grams
5 seconds preinfusion
80% ratio
32 seconds overall

I only wish CC would add it to their triple order!! Kudos to CC!
