It's probably going to become my go-to for non bright shots for milk drinks. It's a crowd pleaser for sure.

Tom,
4 bags of TP Comfort Coffee arrived to me yesterday and resting. Have you pulled/poured enough to get a feel for when this combo peaks?

Yeah, it's pretty easy to work with. Day 4 onwards and you're fine.

Sorry if this is slightly off-topic but it may help me to dial in this coffee.

Thanks
He's using a commercial Linea, not a Mini. Okay, back on topic.

FWIW after pulling some insanely good shots from Buena Vista Roaster and their Black Canyon blend around New Year's I ordered several more pounds a couple weeks ago. Using the same equipment and bean volume in/out I can't get even remotely close to my previous experience; its ilk. The remaining 2 pounds might just get thrown out. All I can think is the roaster's profile/QC slipped big time...not sure.

Just an FYI if someone read my kudos about same a few pages ago...

Ive had many local coffee, along metropolis, red bird espresso, 49th old school.

Surprinsingly, the most caramel flavor have come from italian brand caffe mota. at my huge surprise, teh ebans while cheap were actually very good, with the strongest caramel taste Ive ever tasted. It literally taste like caramel and it was the actual first time I tasted that caramel taste so obviously. https://www.google.ca/search?q=caffe+mo ... 31&bih=585

the 49th old school is more molasse.
red bird is more chocolate but bit too fruity.
metropolis is more chocolatey.

Im a bit shock tbh about caffe mota. it cost 30$ compared to 85$ for metropolis or 49th parallel and its very good!

Ill be testing more italian brand as the price/taste seems hard to beat.

The second biggest chocolate bomb I've had: Adventure Coffee Roasting's Sunrise Breakfast Blend (Tucson; online too). Also a big sweet spot and easy to pull. This works wonderfully as espresso even though Scott & son Josh developed/roasts it primarily for pour over.

Both offer incredible value IMHO in today's world of good beans.
Will buy some soon and do a pour over to let you know if I approve. I am a newbie who loves the chocolate/nutty coffees! How much coffee can I get in a sample before I do though?

Tried the La Colombe Nizza. Wasn't my favorite-too dark & bitter.

So what's lighter and chocolate tasting? Thinking about trying the Vivace Dolce next. Thoughts? ACME Motor City seems interesting, but reviews in this thread are a bit mixed. Would prefer to keep the price under $15/12oz.

58mm flat grinder and spring-lever machine (no direct control over temp).

You have boiler pressure control. Darker roasts may be better when pulled cooler.

Thanks. Just discovered how to change the pstat. Will turn it down slightly and see if it helps.

Was hoping some others might have tried multiple recommendations from here and reported back their results. I appreciate everyone who has posted responses to others' recommendations. Gonna try Vivace Dolce next, and then maybe Motor City.

FWIW, I thought Ceremony Coffee's "Mass Appeal" espresso was quite good, but maybe not exactly what I'd call a "chocolate bomb." Anyone who's local to the mid-Atlantic area might consider giving it a shot.
