Just picked up a bag (12oz) of Cafe Grumpy's Heartbreaker Espresso -- roasted yesterday. Anyone have any experience with this blend? How many days rest it needs? Recommended starting points for dose/volume or weight etc... I am a super neub, but I'd like some tips for this coffee.

I'm pretty sure they pull 1oz of liquid from about 20g of coffee at their location in Chelsea. I think they use triple baskets last time I was there. It's an incredibly small amount of coffee with an incredible flavour.

So, according to that, updose like crazy and pull 20g dose to be 15g in the cup. That should translate into about an ounce of liquid

Thanks for the tip Spitz.me! I pulled two shots at 14.5/29 (dry/liquid) in 29 sec. They were good but ordinary. I've tried as much as 18g in my double basket, so will try that tomorrow. I don't have a triple, so what's the most I can/should pack into a double?
