Blawan Estate Javan

Postby michaelbenis on Wed Nov 18, 2009 3:42 pm

I've just tried this Blawan Estate Javan from Londinium. It's a big bean and will probably require an adjustment to your grinder, taking it finer than an SHB. It's also roasted darker than Londinium usually go.

It's quite a clean cup, though: rich, smooth, deep, earthy but no forest floor, no brightness, a little chocolate but not much complexity - a bear hug of a coffee!

Needless to say, I'm very impressed.

If you don't think you like Javans, it could be worth a try just to get rid of the prejuidce and open your mind.

I know it did that to mine :D

Incidentally, Londinium have just become an approved roaster of Olympia Express, the Cremina and Maximatic people. They deserve the accolade.

Cheers
