Adding Copper Horse Coffee . . .

Heard about these guys on the Coffee Compass blog. They're a new roaster out of Ithaca, NY. I tried their "Don Santos Catuai" from Nicaragua. Excellent coffee, works beautifully in the Chemex (with paper and Kone filter). Nice, bright opening with a sweet, smooth finish. Also, the management at Copper Horse is great to deal with, really nice people. Highly recommend!

Added Flattop, out of Estes Park, CO. Has anyone tried their coffee?

So I ordered from Copper Horse and received a bag today roasted 4/16 (ordered on 4/20). Guess they don't roast to order but the roaster says the one i ordered (the Colombian on sale now) hits its stride 11 days post roast so we'll see.

I'd like to mention a roaster that just converted to a free shipping policy: http://justcoffee.coop/ They had a free shipping special in April and it brought in so many customers that they decided to adjust there pricing and offer free shipping full time. I wouldn't call them a third wave roaster. They tend to have more traditional roast profiles but they have plenty to choose from. Prices range from $13-15 per 12 ounces. If you try to place a second order with them and you can't add anything to your shopping cart, you have to clear all your cookies. This is a bug they know about so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Barrett's Coffee in Austin, TX offers free shipping with no minimum - but they only sell 2.5lb & 5lb bags. I just realized last week that their facility is in my neighborhood, so I skip the shipping and just pick up in person, but it's nice to know that CONUS shipping's free. Had my lady pick up a bag of their Kenya today and looking forward to breaking into it this weekend.

They average $30-35 for 2.5lb, putting it at $14/lb (or less), which I enjoy since most coffee I buy tends to be $15-18 for 12oz, but I realize some people actually prefer buying small bags more frequently. You'd have to contact directly to be sure of whether they roast per order or not; I specifically wanted beans that were at least 2-3 days post roast so I was in luck that some of the Kenya was still around from Tuesday's roast.

This is a long thread, and not sure if this has been mentioned - but Redbird coffee offers free shipping when you order at least four pounds.

Considering their prices are very reasonable, their coffee is top notch - I consider Redbird one of the best price to value roasters these days on the web. They have become my only source for single origins, I have even abandoned my local roaster due to Redbirds quality for the price.

Note they are currently out of stock on two of my favorites - namely Wote Konga and Sweet Blue - and I am hoping they restock those very soon.
If I could just like crappy coffee again, it would sure save a lot of time and money!

I think the point of this topic is free shipping, no strings attached.

I just ordered from compelling and rich, they don't appear to use tracking information though.
