2010 Gold Medal coffee blend

Apologies if this has been covered before.

One of the winners of the Istituto Internazionale Assagiatori Caffe (International institute of coffee tasters) in the Non Italian Single Origins And Blends for Espresso category, was Bizzarri Blend - 100% Arabica Coffee from Caffè Umbria, in Seattle http://www.caffeumbria.com/v2/indexa.html

I was just wondering if anyone from Seattle had tried it, and if so, what they thought of it. I'm curious to know how this Institute's standards align or otherwise with peoples real world experience.

They've mentioned on coffee forums since I've been around, about ten years; and they are, no BS, one of the original Italian immigrant espresso roasters. They used to be called Torrefazione Italia until about 2004. They roast on the dark side, and get mixed reviews, Ken Davids being typical.

I note from Ken David's site that he includes a disclaimer as follows: "Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee."

Given that his review is 9 years old, I wonder if it would still be considered accurate? I guess coffee blends evolve, to a degree. Exemplars of SO coffee presumably come and go, depending on local growing conditions. Maybe not, I don't know.
