1st, a hearty thanks for Joel and Barb for hosting. Open door, open hearts.

2nd, an award to Frank <Gimpy> for driving the furthest, 250+ miles.

3rd, I took the best <worst?> sink shot off Pete's/Dumpshot's Caravel. At least I now know how he earned his handle <grins>.

Such a good group. No airs, no pretentiousness, just solid coffee folks. I sought out the pourover types and talked about the 'presso heads assembled <grins>.

Such a display of machines and grinders. I spent most of my time on the Maximatic, comparing it mentally to the Cremina which I own. I found it easy to use. I gravitate to the comfort cups so I worked over 'Ombre Coffee (http://www.ombrecoffee.com/) and the Red Bird. Red Bird hasn't changed that much from my memories of 6 years ago. Probably still very heavily based on Brazils.

Great day, concluded by a scenic lunch at Saddlebrook, overlooking the Catalina Mountains. A hearty thanks to all for assembling!

Here are a few not very good ones. The shots, I mean, not the people (who are awesome one and all). And let me add my voice to the chorus of thanks to Joel for his wonderful hospitality.

Barista Thomas on a Strada. 3 group. Colombian Cortado. Delicious, might have gone about 20 seconds longer on the bean for espresso roast.

Definitely worth a visit. Good service, well trained, friendly.

Jim,

I think it was you who messaged me about a double wall cup left behind. For the life of me (I'm old!), I can't find that message. We'll arrange a meet up one day at the Bisbee Breakfast Club, and I'll get it back to you. Thanks for your generous offer of gifting it to the collection.

Someone left a small blue plastic bowl.

Joel

Raging Sage on Campbell. A barista 3 group, all motion little action. Line is queued up and she's doing a dance with a feather brush on the portafilter. Ordered a cortado, fourth in line. Waited 12 minutes. No drink. Walked out.

Not worth a visit.

Dave, may I suggest you start a new "AZ coffee shop review" thread? The data is very helpful, but it may get lost over time and now that the Meet & Greet is finished others aren't as likely to pop in here.
