yeah, but it's Acme Sourdough..... its goooood..... and natural....no filler... Anyway, I'll leave it up to someone else then....

I don't have a thin wire for my thermocouple, sorry...... just have the thick wire that is hooked up to the roaster, so I can tell a little of what is going on in there....

Just finished the porta-h20 filter, and hooking it up to test right now.....

Clay,

If you find a way to pick up some Acme without going out of your way, that would be great. If not, even if someone needs to make a bread run to the local market, we'll be fine. There will be a lot of abundant everything there.

Just wondering if people are interested using the Clever dripper. I'll bring mine and a Pino electric kettle.

Also since we have so many participants, it would be a good time to do some blind tasting of a lowly hand grinder, Bunn, vs other expensive fancy grinder. :D

I got the box of Quart sized Ziploc bags covered. I can pick up some bread and cups too, if no one else has that covered... what kind/size cups?

I'll still try and re-build the La Peppina before coming, it's been a really rough week, but if I don't get a chance I think we'll still get to user her after priming the group.

I roasted up some Colombia Gesha Las Margaritas Finca La Esperanza which I'm hoping makes a real nice Vac Pot or two, maybe some shots and also roasted up some Brazil Moreninha Formosa but I haven't had time to really dial anything in and have been drinking mainly Sumatra coffees from a recent GCBC cupping exercise.

Henry, all those are welcome. Where do you think we should time them? Maybe we can do a fourth wave (timely reference ... or not?) of non-espresso brewing? Since Nick and others will be bringing special coffees that aren't necessarily espressos, that will be a nice piece to add. The grinder comparison can take place then, if you want to run it. Then maybe we can do roasting, and have espresso shots available on other gear of our choosing. I'll update the post on stages so we can focus all the information coming at us.

Gary, thanks again for hosting. You decide when and what events should occur. :D

What about I bring ~100 paper cups (from Costco, where else?), so the participants can taste the same coffee, brewed at same temperature, with coffee ground from different grinders? The participants can just rank the coffee blindly (1, 2, 3, etc). It will not be completely scientific, but since we are tasting blind, it will remove some bias.

I have two Clevers, and hopefully someone can bring one more. If we only taste three at a time, hopefully it won't cause taste bud fatigue.

Here's a list of what I'll be bringing. Whatever isn't needed will just stay in the car.

*Contest/Award cup-saucers
*6 espresso cups ( 2 nice ceramic-4 Bodum glass
*A huge (20lb?) bag of El Salvadorian-Santa Ana ( bourbon?) greens to play with. Picked up at my last visit to ES. They're not micro-lot, but they are high altitude, good quality greens that I've roasted as a SO, and blended in espresso.
*K30 Vario WBC Grinder
* Clever Coffee Dripper +Filters
*Fresh Almond Milk
*Snack food of some sort
*Canon 5DmkII and various lenses/flash, for some great photos.

I'll post pic's of the meet up in this thread, focusing on equipment and coffee. I wont post pictures of members here without their ok beforehand.
Fresh out of the roaster: Hawaii Ka'U Typica, Ethiiopia Gedeo Worka, El Salvador Kilimangaro WP
Next batch: Nothing yet!

Tom,

I hope you bring that all inside.

Others, we're still missing various densities of fatted milk if you want it, i.e., 2%, whole, half/half, cream.

Thanks, Dustin. Maybe 2 half gallons whole, a half gallon 2%? I think 2% is the preferred one for latte art, isn't it? If we over-run the fridge, I've got an ice chest I can load with a bag of ice to chill things.
