Great! Thanks for the replies. I'm working through the location with Pete and should have that firmed up sometime next week. I will post additional details at that time.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving,

Colin

Never heard of Maverick but site looks good and sounds like a good spot. I can bring my Brass Portaspresso and Rosco mini hand grinder if anyone wants to see that. Otherwise I have a Vario-w and Quickmill SIlvano if there is any interest; although the silvano is not as transportation friendly but is still doable.

Haven't heard anything for awhile. Are the time and location getting firmed up? My wife will travel with me, if that is ok? If not, she can do some "shopping", if need be. I can bring my la pavoni and Pharos. I can/will also bring some roasted coffee beans.

Colin and I are still working on getting the site firmed up. I am in charge of getting something going with Cartel either in Tempe or Old Town Scottsdale. I will post asap when we figure it out. I will try to get some info today. The holiday sort of got in the way, sorry for the delay.

Really looking forward to it!

I'm going to have to back out on this one. Sorry but something important came up and I can't make it. You all have a great get together. Hopefully next time I can attend.

Sorry you can't make it Gene, hopefully you can make the next one!

Thank you everyone for your patience, Pete and I are finalizing the details and should be able to post information tomorrow or Thursday morning. Thanks, and I'll be posting more information soon.

Cartel Coffee Lab has generously offered to host us at their Old Town location in their side/back room, big thanks to Pete (dumpshot) for coordinating! One of their top long-time baristas is also going to spend some time with us hanging out and discussing anything we wish. There should be plenty of space for us and equipment, as well as power and a nearby bar sink. As to not overwhelm their busy hours, we are welcome to use the space from 3 pm onward.

Due to the later start, I'm proposing lunch before hand at Cornish Pasty in old town at 1:30 pm. Cornish has plenty of space, good food, vegan/veg options if needed, good beer selection, and full bar, so I figure there's something for everyone. It's about a half mile from Cartel, but we can figure out a carpool situation from lunch if needed so we aren't lugging equipment across Old Town.

I'm going to bring a couple knock boxes, and a few cups (just in case) and Pete is going to bring some towels and bucket (if needed).

Any other equipment or coffees are welcome. I will bring my Vario and I have a few coffees right now (Redbird Ethiopia Torea and Aricha, PT's Elida Honey Processed and Finca Kilimanjaro Natural) so let me know if anyone has a particular interest in bringing one of those so I can pull it out of the freezer.

Lastly, please post up if you will be attending lunch, Cartel, or both just so we have an idea on numbers. Thanks and I look forward to meeting everyone on Saturday.

Hi guys,

The afternoon time puts the gathering out of reach for me; can't drive back to Saddlebrooke after dark. I'm waiting for cataract surgery.

Hopefully, there will be another time here in Tucson.

gophish, I am in for both locations (both lunch at Cornish Pasty and Cartel Coffee Lab). My wife will attend also, if that is ok?

If you like I can pack/bring my 8 cup la pavoni and Pharos grinder, five or six little cups (sorry, no saucers). I can also bring a fresh roast of Bodka's "Main Squeeze" espresso blend.

I also have a couple of different sugar free syrups for flavored lattes if anyone wants a milk drink (vanilla, French vanilla, caramel and hazelnut--I normally don't use these myself-wife does☺).

And do we need to bring any "regular" coffee stuff? I have a clever dripper and aero press? I admit I am coming for the espresso side, though.

Thx, Frank and Candie

Joel,

I am sorry you can't make it! I guess that means we will have the next one in Tucson, eh?

I am in for lunch and Cartel.

Cartel has all the different pour-over brewers and Alex, our host, is happy to demonstrate any of them to us.

I am excited to be able to meet some real live H-Bers and exchange ideas, see some equipment, drink some coffee!
