Thanks again everyone for coming, it appears to have been a success. A special thanks to Jim for pulling most of the espresso machine duty. He didn't sign up for it but got recruited anyways while I tended the food. It worked to everyone's advantage as my espresso skills are likely not up to standard. I make better BBQ than espresso.
Daniel, thanks for the sauce. Its very good. I tried it later on by itself, I see why you bring it back. I really didn't have much pork while everyone was here. Funny thing is when you Start a pit or smoker early in the morning and smell your BBQ all day, by the time its ready you have had enough before you ever taste it. I usually won't eat it until the next day.
The espresso BBQ sauce that everyone liked can be found here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/recipes/ ... 5f31d5b814 It's not my recipe, It belongs to Aaron Franklin a BBQ legend. The story he tells is he developed a strong appreciation for coffee working long nights over a BBQ pit in Texas. It was just a no brainer for it at a HB barbecue.
Thanks to everyone for helping with food, coffee, wine, beer, etc. Everyone did their part. Kristine is still raving about Gary's Rhubarb dessert.
If things work out we can probably plan on doing this again next year. Maybe I'll try a brisket, though they take much longer to cook.
Once again thanks for coming, your help and making it such a fun day, John.

No worries, no offense taken. She is a dream and the civilizing force around here which prevents my sons and I from reverting back to becoming neanderthals.

Thanks to John and Kristine, our intrepid group was once again able to combine extraordinary coffee experiences (I'm thinking particularly here of the amazing geisha and Vlad's remarkable roasts), some wonderful wine (thanks Dr Mike), and some truly great, insanely great, plates of food.
The care taken by everyone, and especially our hosts, created such a uniquely enjoyable event.
I'm grateful to all.

Good grief, I gave kudos for wine and forgot the vintner-in-chief!

Looking forward to Kristines next lovely creation.

What y'all said... John and Christine, you created a wonderful day long event for us.It was so very comfortable in your home... Thank you so much
The food was just perfect, the ambiance and company was superlative. As usual at our Chicago- Milwaukee ( misnomer) I learned so much.
Last night I placed my order for Klatch "Belle" and for the Caffe Lusso "Gran Miscela Carmo espresso coffees and can't wait till both arrive
Thank you all... Until next time...
