I am taking a day trip to Milwaukee 7/13/17. Are there any recommended shops to visit for espresso?

Here is a couple coffee shops in the area which also serve a descent SO:
Pilcrow Coffee, they are pretty good but only open until 2pm
There is also Valentine Coffee Roasters, go to their main shop on Vliet Street in Washington Heights
and Kickapoo Coffee in the Third Ward is very good, a short walk from my office.

David, in addition to what Dominick posted above (and stopping by at our houses for a cup), there is also Colectivo Coffee (used to be called Alterra Coffee): http://colectivocoffee.com/cafes.

We have enjoyed stopping at Hawthorne Coffee Roasters, on Howell Avenue just north of the airport in case you are coming from that direction.
Had a great cold-brew there a couple of months ago. The only cold-brew coffee I have ever liked, in fact.
Edit: Oops, sorry, looks like your trip already happened.

Hey guys, I'm headed up to Milwaukee for work next week, and want to hit one espresso joint before I head back to Chicago. Are these still the recommendations?

I'm generally interested in good SO espresso roasted no to more than a medium, but usually lighter. I like Kickapoo, but we get it here in Chicago. I'll be in the Third Ward.vberch wrote:David, in addition to what Dominick posted above (and stopping by at our houses for a cup), there is also Colectivo Coffee (used to be called Alterra Coffee): http://colectivocoffee.com/cafes.

Daniel, in that case go to Pilcrow Coffee (http://www.pilcrowcoffee.com) and Valentine (https://valentinecoffeeco.com). Both are pretty good.

Thanks Vlad. Through my reading Valentine was my first choice. But sadly it's far from the Third Ward, which is where I'll be. Thanks for the Pilcrow affirmation!

I agree with the previous suggestions. I would also add Anodyne, its closer to where you will be. Espresso blend I find is very good and lightly roasted. I don't believe they typically pull SO but might on request.
I would go to the location on Bruce St
