leon wrote:Hi ilker, there are several decent roasters in Hong Kong and one in Macau that I know of. Some of them do online orders and shipping, although I"m not sure if they ship to Shenzhen. You would have to check their websites. To get started I recommend checking out Urban Coffee Roasters from HK and Blooom from Macau. Here are their websites:

Let me know if you want more recommendations and I'll do my best. Those two are my current favorites.
Leon,

Agree on Blooom, my friends roastery here in Macau. He is an excellent roaster and sources a great variety of beans.

Check out this special box set I just picked up for the mid-autumn festival.

T,

Their Facebook page has the address and map, phone number as well if you have any trouble in locating them. The new location of the roastery is a little bit hard to locate the first time, so give them a call to zero in on the location.

Jeremy, you're a lucky man to be friends with a roaster like that. All the beans I've had from them have been top notch. I saw that rare variety sampler on the website...tempting! I've also been eyeing the dry process Nicaragua, have you tried that one yet?

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!!

Thanks for posting about this - if we ever go there we will check out the shop for sure. The coffee around the part of China where I live is really bad - one of the things that finally got me to buy my own espresso machine. I am interested in trying different beans. Probably a long shot, but does anybody know a good roaster in China who will ship to other parts of the country? Sorry if this is hijacking the topic.

Leon,

PM me your details and I will ship you this bag, I'm here in the shop right now.

This is the roaster and owner, Keith, holding the beans.

Hi Brett,

I live in Shenzhen for 2 years. I search a lot but can not really suggest any good roaster around.
I know Gee coffee in Shenzhen. They are not bad but ridiculously expensive. I feel like stupid whenever i have to buy beans from them.

You can also find their shop in Taobao. I never ordered beans online so I can not guarantee they will send fresh or not. Its a gamble.

I heard Knockbox coffee have branch in Shenzhen and also can send beans to the address in China.
The contact number is 0755- 86359281

I highly suggest you to buy from Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan etc. Freeze them in small portions so you can keep them fresh long time.

Thanks so much for the reply, Ilker. Your post was quite helpful. Based on the quote above, I'm assuming some of those shops will ship to China mainland? I can start asking around.
