Pretty cool to see that the owner is a pretty active user in the HB forums.

FWIW I was an HB member and home roaster long before I turned coffee professional. I have my feet planted firmly in both home & professional camps. Though while I most definitely do espresso at home daily haven't home roasted in years.

I knew I was forgetting something in my visit to Portland last week! Not only did I miss Compass Coffee but Nossa Familia as well.
After visiting Stumptown*, heart @ 2211 E Burnside, and another random shop over the course of a single morning café crawl, I just got caught up in all other things Portlandia.
[* Their overpriced, unsweetened cold brew tasted awful without any sweetener. Plus at 0600, all I saw were Apple laptops and felt icky like I was somehow stuck in one of Apple's vomit-inducing ads. Hear that, LWW?!?]

Espresso or no go!
